Munich is a very clean city. Truthfully, I did not know much about the city and the only thing that came to mind was those big german beers, sausage and pretzel's. I can't imagine anyone disagreeing with me. Well, I was wrong Munich is real rich in it's history. We started off by staying at a hotel 10 minutes from the train station called Hotel Brunnenhoff it has nice clean rooms and a breakfast buffet every morning. It is a 15 minute walk to Marien Platz which is the main promenade. Everything was within walking distance to shops and cafe's. After a long plane trip and a speed train I figured Munich was the best place to make a pit stop for some needed rest and sightseeing for 2 days. Our first day we took a stroll down to Marien Platz and walked down the main promenade exploring. We visited the Bayern Munich royal family site which is actually underneath a church. Paul and I climbed 166 steps to the top of St. Peter's tower to find a stunning view of the city. After seeing the view of the city nothing sounded more refreshing than a cold beer at Munich's Hofbrau beer garden.

The DB ICE train is a wonderful experience topping speeds of up to 300 km/per hr ( 186 MPH) It is a smooth and comfortable ride with all the high tech instrumentation. There is Wi-Fi on board through the DB website. Our arrival to Munich should be at around 4:00pm.

After a long flight, I arrive at the Frankfurt main station just in time to board the 12:54pm speed train to Munich. Did not spend any time to tour Frankfurt as we have to get on board to check in and move on to Munich. The train station in Frankfurt is huge. Very easy to get around and obtaining information to board trains is at the DB information booth. The gentleman that will be traveling with me is my childhood friend "Paul" he not been to Europe in over 30 years. It will be quite an experience for him as well. Paul actually is my brother's friend growing up too!! there the same age. So, I guess u can say I'm living this trip vicariously for my brother.

The countries that we will be touring and going through are on your right. It is the beginning of a 36 day exciting and epic trip!
